Alan Gustafson

Construction Law Litigation Attorney in Pinellas

Before joining Herman & Wells, Alan was a partner at a large, national defense law firm. Because of that experience, he fully understands how the “other side” thinks, works, and litigates cases. Alan is dedicated to putting his experience, knowledge, and skills to work for our clients and providing them with the aggressive representation they deserve.

Alan’s Areas of Practice

Alan personally works with each of his clients, and thoroughly enjoys his dual role as both an advocate for his clients and a counselor at law. It is his belief that the other side often values cases more when they are handled by an attorney and law firm with experience in litigating cases. He understands the significant pressure and stress that a client who has never been involved in litigation may feel. Although no attorney can guarantee a result, Alan strives to take some of the stress out of the litigation process by ensuring that his clients can get in touch with him directly when they need him.

With Alan on the team, Herman & Wells has officially added construction law litigation to our core practice areas. Our law firm can provide quality, cost-effective legal services to individuals, associations, and businesses in the construction, community association, and insurance fields or industries.

What Does Alan Do When He Isn’t Litigating Florida Construction Law Cases?

Alan was born in Newark, Ohio. He ran both track and cross country in college, and he’s an avid sports fan. Growing up in Ohio,  Alan watched 100s of football games at “the Horseshoe” with his Dad and he remains an ardent fan of The Ohio State University Football Team.

Alan is also a passionate supporter of several “soccer” teams, including Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea F.C., and both the USMNT and USWNT. His family originated from Buffalo, NY, so he’s been a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan. Of course, he has also grown to support the Tampa Bay Lightning and Rays.

In 2012, Alan met my wife, Anxhela, in Tampa, Florida. Anxhela, who was born in Albania, performs clinical and scientific genomics research for a national, non-profit hospital headquartered in Tampa. Her work, and the selfless contributions of patients, to perform next-generation DNA sequencing to help scientists make exciting discoveries and develop novel therapies for childhood disorders is an inspiration to Alan. He lives in Safety Harbor, Florida with his daughter, Riley, son, William, and their family rescue dog, Cookie.
