Alan’s Areas of Practice
Alan personally works with each of his clients, and thoroughly enjoys his dual role as both an advocate for his clients and a counselor at law. It is his belief that the other side often values cases more when they are handled by an attorney and law firm with experience in litigating cases. He understands the significant pressure and stress that a client who has never been involved in litigation may feel. Although no attorney can guarantee a result, Alan strives to take some of the stress out of the litigation process by ensuring that his clients can get in touch with him directly when they need him.
With Alan on the team, Herman & Wells has officially added construction law litigation to our core practice areas. Our law firm can provide quality, cost-effective legal services to individuals, associations, and businesses in the construction, community association, and insurance fields or industries.
Since 2007, Alan has practiced with other Florida law firms with a sustained focus on construction law, community association law, and litigation. He has represented general contractors, subcontractors, individuals, community associations, and businesses as lead counsel and co-counsel in disputes regarding construction defects, surety bonds, breaches of contract, construction liens, covenant enforcement, and professional licensing requirements. He has provided counsel in general planning and evaluation of risk management practices.
Alan has also practiced in the areas of general civil litigation, community association law, and product liability. Prior to private practice, he served as an assistant state attorney with the Tenth Judicial Circuit of Florida and has tried over 20 jury trials and numerous bench trials in both misdemeanor and felony-level criminal cases.
